Lahore and Karachi Set to Host Tri-Series Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan is gearing up for the Champions Trophy 2025 with a tri-nation ODI series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. The series will serve as both a competitive warm-up and a test run for the recently refurbished stadiums in Lahore and Karachi.

The tournament, which begins on February 8, will follow a round-robin format, with each team playing the other once. The top two teams will then clash in the final on February 14.

Gaddafi Stadium and National Bank Stadium Ready to Shine

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the series opener between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 8, as well as the day game between New Zealand and South Africa on February 10. Meanwhile, Karachi's National Bank Stadium will host the Pakistan-South Africa clash on February 12, followed by the grand finale on February 14.

These matches will also be a preview of the Champions Trophy venues, as both stadiums have undergone extensive renovations.

Major Upgrades at Gaddafi Stadium

The Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore now boasts increased seating capacity, with new chairs installed throughout. To enhance the broadcast quality and viewing experience, 480 state-of-the-art LED lights have been added, improving LUX levels. Two giant digital replay screens, measuring 80x30 feet and 22x35 feet, have also been installed, along with a new hospitality enclosure for players and officials.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated, "These upgrades ensure that the stadium is fully equipped to deliver an unparalleled experience for players, spectators, and global audiences alike."

Enhancements at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium

The National Bank Stadium in Karachi has seen similar improvements. A new hospitality enclosure has been constructed at the University End, while 350 LED lights have been installed to enhance broadcast visibility. Two digital replay screens are already operational, and 5,000 new chairs have been added to enhance spectator comfort.
